Description

This Smith and Wesson .44 Hand Ejector Second Model revolver, carrying the serial number 24618, made its initial journey on March 12, 1926, to W.H. Hoegee Co. located at 138 South Main Street, Los Angeles, California. Constructed on the square butt N target frame, this six-shot, double-action target model exhibits distinctive features such as a high-profile target front sight, an adjustable sight on a round top strap, and an exposed ejector rod.

The fluted cylinder, case-colored hammer, and trigger further accentuate the revolver's intricate design. The firearm is adorned with diamond checkered walnut grips featuring silver medallions. The barrel, cylinder, and grips all carry matching numbers. The barrel reveals mild wear near the muzzle, and the cylinder bears a drag line and minimal wear on the high edge.

On both sides of the frame near the rear, some patina and flaking are present. The grips, however, remain in near pristine condition. The bore and action are in excellent shape. This model, produced from 1915 to 1940, succeeded the revered Triple Lock. Despite the passage of time, this particular example remains in exceptional condition, a rare find among its kind.
