Description
This antique Colt Single Action Army revolver, serial #165154, was manufactured in 1896 and chambered in the iconic .45 Colt. Featuring a 4 ¾" replacement barrel with a hand-stamped “45 COLT” marking on the left side, this revolver brings old-world charm with a mix of collector and shooter appeal.
The metal surfaces display a gray-brown mottled patina from past touch-up work, with scattered light to moderate pitting adding frontier character. The six-shot fluted cylinder, base pin, and cylinder pin are all replacements. The hammer currently does not hold at full cock, so mechanical attention is needed.
Aesthetically, the standout feature is a set of aftermarket two-piece pearl grips—imperfect yet striking—with visible chips at the toe, heel, and around the frame fit. The bore is bright with good, shallow rifling, showing the potential for range use after repair. This revolver is classified as an antique, making it an excellent candidate for restoration, historical display, or Old West-themed collections.
